NF and USP are two names for pharmacopoeial standards that overlap heavily on ethyl acetate. The differences live in the document format and the edition named, not in the ester itself.
A certificate of analysis normally carries assay, density, chromatographic purity, water, residue and acidity, each against the method the monograph names. Check the lot number on the page against the label on the drum before anything else.
Food use runs on a different path: E 1504 / INS 1504 with a food-grade declaration, separate from the pharmacopoeial file even where the packing is identical.
Auditors ask three things: where the lot number leads, which edition the limits were read against, and how re-tests are handled. Written answers to those three cover most of a solvent file.
